I'm a newspaper reporter and some of the videos I do get on the newspaper web site. Some don't. Not because they've been rejected, but that I don't offer them because...well, for different reasons. But what kind of video would you like to see on a newspaper web site? Something that is slick and looks like it could play on TV? Something that is different than what you can't get on TV? Something that is raw and rough, but first before the 11 o'clock news? Or just anything that is interesting, like on YouTube? Let me know. On Saturday, family and friends of Leon Blackwell gathered at Kingsessing Recreation Center in Southwest Philadelphia to hold a memorial for the 19-year-old, who was shot at the center nine days earlier. He was shot twice in the head and once in the neck by a 16-year-old over what police say was an argument about a small amount of marijuana. The shooting occurred at 4:30 p.m. on April 12. I tagged along with anti-crime activists Greg Bucceroni and C.B. Kimmins as they tried to help out with the effort. The "official" goal was to get the homeless in shelters, but the reality was that most street people don't want to be in shelters. Watch the video and they'll explain why. We started in Frankford and moved our way to Center City in the subway concourses.
